The first 2019 fashions weeks are over! It ends with Paris where both Men shows and Haute Couture where exceptional and for some brands unexpected.
The LVMH Group was really running the show with more than 5 luxury fashion brands at their best. LOUIS VUITTON with Virgil Abloh, had reinvented the men collection where Luxury and street wear and tailoring where all combined in one. DIOR was outstanding with Kim Jones which surprised all of us with probably the best collection of this season; Maria Gracia Chuiri made us dream with her poetic circus Haute Couture under her tent at the Rodin Museum. At GIVENCHY, the Haute Couture of Claire Waight Keller was a tribute to Hubert de Givenchy combined with a contemporary vision, beautiful. At CELINE, Heidi Slimane offer a Rock Roll collection full of his esthetic proving to be forever young. Finally, at BERLUTI, Kris Van Ash, is giving a “vestiaire” and proposing a real style beyond shoes and leather accessories. The yesterday 2018 published results of LVMH both on sales at €46.8 B - Fashion & Leather goods at € 18.5 B and operating margins at €10 B at 21.4%- F&L goods at 32.2% are a true confirmation of key strengths of the world leader luxury group in the world.
CHANEL Haute Couture was at the pinnacle with Karl Lagerfeld missing his bow at the end of the show, but his talent was everywhere. VALENTINO with Pier Paolo Piccioli and its Haute couture collection was remarkable, BALMAIN with Olivier Rousteing presented his 1st Haute couture show blending Space Opera and heritage of the House, both owned by MAYHOOLA. ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER has a sexy ultra-feminine Haute couture show as the embroideries of ZUHAIR MURAD while IRIS VAN HERPEN has Art master piece organic Haute Couture breakthrough dresses!
